Giving an abandoned dog a forever home is life-changing — for everyone. Here are just a few reasons to consider adopting a mutt from a shelter or rescue.
Be A Hero – Save a Life
The number one reason to adopt that when you do that you save a life. Simple as that.
Studies Show Mixed Breeds Are Often Healthier
There’s never a guarantee that any dog won’t have some type of genetic issue, but in general, mutts tend to be healthier, more robust, and just awesome dogs.
Enjoy Them for Longer
Because mutts tend to be healthier and more robust it doesn’t take an Einstein to figure out that mixed breeds live longer allowing you to love your dog for as long as possible.
More Affordable
Most dogs who are available through shelters and rescue groups are already spayed or neutered and are up to date on vaccinations. The donation fee is significantly less than buying a dog through a breeder.
Trainable and Unique
You’ll still want to choose a dog based on personality, size, family, age, and more. But a mutt is a great way to have a dog like none other and that’s pretty cool. Rescue dogs are resilient, full of life, and extremely grateful to the one who rescued them and found them their lifelong, loving home.
